SIGNATURE SERVICES
All of these signature services are delivered with a unique (one-of-a-kind) spiritual, meditative, and transformative approach and experience to bring out the best in the writer and the body of work.
GHOSTWRITING
This service is designed for the author who would like a book to deliver their transformative message but doesn’t want to actually write it. Through a series of interviews, meetings and/or author furnished materials, I will gather all the information to flesh out the book concept, create the book outline, develop chapters, and do all the writing.
The process is highly interactive and can take approximately 3 months to a year+ depending upon the book length, complexity of project, and schedules.
AUTHOR COACHING
THINK: Coach + Writing Partner + Developmental Editor
This highly interactive service assists authors with their book from concept to completion.
My signature program includes one-of-a-kind and highly individualized meditation and visioning sessions to assist with ideas and writing your first draft.
Additional services include accountability, as well as organizational and structural development (i.e, book outline, flow of the chapters), and copyediting (as an additional service). After our first call, you will leave with a strategy to bring your book to life!
DEVELOPMENTAL OR SUBSTANTIVE COPYEDITING
THINK: Deep Dive
This service provides a significant level of writing help for a manuscript. This level of editing often requires significant or drastic changes to the original manuscript. Portions of the manuscript may be rewritten if needed. Additionally, there may be organizational and structural changes.
This service is often needed for people who need writing assistance, experiencing difficulty with organization, as well as people for whom English is a second language.
Special attention is paid to the entire flow of the manuscript; structural issues; and ensuring the message is clear on the level of paragraphs, chapters, and entire manuscript.
COPYEDITING
THINK: Clarity + Completion + Consistent + Correct + Concise Language, Voice and Message
This level of editing reviews sentence and paragraph structure, replaces repetitive words and synonyms, eliminates redundant words, and substitutes weak words, phrases, and sentences with alternatives that deliver more impact or are more relevant to your subject matter.
This review also ensures a consistent tone and voice.
STYLISTIC EDITING OR LINE EDITING
THINK: Clarifying and Illuminating Your Unique Voice
This editing service is often included in both a developmental or a standard copyedit. This service is often called line editing because it occurs at the sentence level.
This level of editing pays special attention to the author’s unique voice and the book’s tone. Detailed attention will be paid to clarifying meaning, eliminating jargon and clichés, ensuring the language flows, and is consistent with your unique style. Attention is also given to the syntax and how the sentence will sound or the ease of reading for the book’s audience.
PROOFREADING - For previous clients or highly selective projects only
THINK: Final set of eyes.
This level of editing is customarily the last round of editing.
This service will check grammar, punctuation, capitalization, spelling, verb tense, and pronouns. It also ensures consistency with spacing, headers, and formatting.

ABOUT ME
Brooke-Sidney's love for books and writing began when she was only 2 years old. A young reader, she was often found curled up with a book and scolded for using a flashlight to read a book during bedtime.
Although well-meaning, Brooke-Sidney was always told that you couldn't make a living off writing and that smart little girls find serious jobs like being a lawyer or businesswoman. So, instead of passionately following her dream, her life always consisted of a backup plan. One lane was focused on her passion - writing, media, journalism, and stories. And the other lane was focused on so-called practical and serious things - law and business.
Her own personal backstory of putting her passion for writing and powerful stories behind the serious and acceptable work in her father's eyes ran consistently through her life.
Yet despite this intense and unsupportive/disempowering messaging, Brooke-Sidney managed to simultaneously pursue her passions. She graduated from Duke University with two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Women's Studies (an English and Comparative Literature degree) as well as a certificate in Markets & Management from the Fuqua School of Business. She was also a Duke In Oxford Scholar and studied US & British Tort Law.
She spent over ten years in the marketing and media industry working her way up from a National Executive Trainee Associate to a Marketing Associate turned Marketing Manager to an Advertising Manager to an Interactive Media Director. Each position bringing additional skills, expertise, management, and responsibility.
Her writing and communication abilities were recognized when she was hand-selected to receive a full scholarship and stipend from the prestigious University of Southern California - Annenberg School of Communications & Journalism. At USC, she received a Masters Degree in Journalism with a Broadcast emphasis. After graduation, she received a Carnegie & Knight Journalism Fellowship to write stories on the California Delta water crisis.
Immediately following graduate school, Brooke-Sidney entered Loyola Law School. During her legal education, she combined her love of journalism and pursuit of law in her role as the Editor-In-Chief of the Entertainment Law Review. Until recently, this editing role has been her absolute favorite job.
Now, Brooke-Sidney feels blessed to have the ability to truly live her dreams of writing, helping others write their books - and living a life among the powerful messages contained inside a book cover. She lives to ensure that talented writers and authors with a powerful message fully pursue their dreams of making their written works come to life.
Her personal reading favorites and self-taught expertise includes spiritual, personal development, and self-help books. And it is her complete pleasure to work with author-clients on their messages in these areas.
As a result of her background and skills, Brooke-Sidney's clients receive a unique, one-of-a-kind experience whenever they work with her. All of her signature services are complete with the use of meditation, visioning, and intuitive listening honed through her years of listening to clients in the business, media and legal worlds as well as her training as a yoga and mindfulness meditation teacher.
Brooke-Sidney's clients also benefit from her journalism training through her powerful ability to ask the right questions, listen thoroughly and intuitive, structure a story correctly and quickly, edit powerfully, and bring out the heart of the message (no burying the lede).
And finally, her clients benefit from her attorney skills and legal background which bring a highly discerning eye, masterful outlining and structuring, and the ability to see multiple sides to any story.
Even though her path to becoming a powerfully transformative author coach, ghostwriter, and copyeditor wasn't a straight one, Brooke-Sidney is confident that her life was designed specifically to serve her clients on the deepest level and bring their consciousness changing, spiritual and personal development messages to life.
When Brooke-Sidney is not helping authors change the world with their powerful stories, you can find her hanging out with her favorite little guy (her son), doing yoga, hanging out at the beach, or teaching mindfulness meditation.
